Here in Florida, it seems – at least to a certain extent – that there are only two seasons. The first season is Summer. The second season is marked by all the leaves on the trees instantly dying and covering the ground everywhere. For most people, raking leaves is a major inconvenience. And it’s true that having too many leaves on your lawn can be damaging to the grass and can make a home for pests. However, having some leaves on the ground can be beneficial.
You also might not need to use a rake! You could also use a leafblower, or you could use a bagging attachment for your mower, which will turn the leaves into a healthy mulch. Depending on the type of trees you have on your property, the mulched leaves can introduce additional nitrogen to the soil. This can help reduce weeds and encourage grass growth.
